What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this hand tiller for breaking up hard, compacted soil with minimal effort, particularly in challenging conditions like clay and rocky terrain. Reviewers consistently highlight its heavy-duty steel construction, secure bolted design, and durability through aggressive use. Many appreciate how it reduces physical strain and saves time compared to manual digging. Most find it easy to use and effective for garden bed preparation. A small number report difficulty with square handles or struggle in extremely dense soil, but overall customers consider it a reliable, long-lasting tool worth the investment.

This worked way better than I had expected it would. I have hard gumbo clay soil but this broke it up well enough and grabbed the weeds right out. The push knob works well to push out that hard clay.
Awesome !!
Extremely sturdy , I have bought many different brands but this is the best by far! The only thing I would change , is the piece in the middle that pushes the dirt out clanks around while your using it !everything else is much better then the competitors!
If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging
I hated planting new bushes around my property because digging through our hard clay soil was a literal pain. Turns out, all it really needed was to be broken up a bit, and this tiller does that perfectly. The twisting motion is so much easier than trying to break up dirt with a spade. It seems really solid, and the foot handle (is that the right word for it?) really helps get it started. I could take or leave the little plunger thing, TBH - I haven't had any issues with soil getting stuck.

Well crafted with one caveat
Works like a dream as it should. Just be ready for your palms and back to hurt after a long day of using this. Knocking off one star because the price. I could have just rent a gas powered tiller at twice the price and saved myself TONS of time

Great price on this indispensable tool!
I use this to till my small flower garden area. Lowe’s also has a great price on this garden tool! It works really well at loosening the soil, making it easy to weed at the same time as you prepare your planting bed.
Heavy duty
A heavy duty tiller, but it would take a lot of twisting to turn up a sizeable garden. Still, it is well made and probably is great for small projects, but I finally gave in a bought a new Mantis for about 200 sq. ft. of a vegetable patch.
Very good for people with back problems.
It saved my back because I wasn't bent over the entire time I was working in the yard.
The tiler
The step plade is a great feature, overall works very well. If i had to change anything it would be to to redesign the handle in a way to get a bit more leverage
We appreciate your thoughtful review and the insights you shared. Thank you for highlighting the step plate feature of our 8.0-in Steel Hand Tiller. ...

Ripper
I thought pole or the whole tool was made out of hard plastic, but it's made of steel, which made it a lot tougher, and it was so easy to just dig in the dirt and loosen it up. That is o e of the reason I gave it a 5 star rating.
Corona Claw
Not for the faint of heart! You need the strength of Hercules to use it. My poor 68 year old body can barely provide the amount of torque required. Although it is well made and the plunger is a nice feature, the tines belong on a motorized tiller IMO. I'll just continue to use my old fork garden hoe.
