These are very easy to install and the light string goes right into them.

Make sure it will stick to material.

Did not hold stick to deck. Ended up going another route to hang string lights.

It does not stick to the wall at all.

The wall side was not sticky a all, would not stick to cleaned siding. Had to return it and tried another pack with the exact same result. Cannot recommend this for anything.

Needs longer setting time

The packaging stated it needed an hour to set before bearing weight. We let it set for more than an hour but it still fell before the end of the night. I feel if it had set longer it might have held and we still got a good 5 hours out of the hold But 2/4 clips ended up falling before the end of the night.

Command does not harm walls and are strong.

I was a little skeptical about using these outdoors, especially after reading some of the reviews, but have been very impressed with the way they hold after hanging ~60 feet of icicles. We had some 40+ mph winds a few nights and all of the hooks held fast. Just make sure to clean the surface and allow them to cure for a day and they work great.
