Overall a good choice

Created a custom closet using this piece to fit with some of the other closetmaid products. Overall, it turned out great. However, it does take a while to assemble, and the product could be a little sturdier--but for the price point, I'm happy with the result.

Not reasonably refinishable

These ClosetMaid units are not realistically paintable without specialty bonding primers and significant prep. Standard primers (including shellac-based) failed due to surface repellency. Do not buy assuming you can easily repaint to match trim. I'm giving 2 stars begrudgingly at this point - because they are relatively easy to put together and fit in my space nicely, allowing me to save >$1500 as opposed to a professionally installed system. Good addition to closet system.

Super easy to build and install. Only recommendation would be to have pre drilled holes for the stackable bracket to mount.

Nice but could have thicker boards

Nice product except I wish the particle board was thicker. The screws push out the sides in a few spots and is unsightly.

Great piece

Love this product - this is the piece we used the most as part of our modular closet system.

Don’t bother

The white finishing was chipped away on a few shelves. I didn’t notice until everything was out of the box. It’s heavy and an inconvenience to return but I will. So, I would not recommend this product. Seems like companies are taking less pride in workmanship these days.

Shipping damages

Bought 4, Lowes didn't handle right. Felt bad and can't make too many trips to store. Contacted online support they said visit store. One time Lowes returned and other time shipping damage. Be watchful when you are buying this.

I purchased two identical shelves and have pictures here so you can see how they miss drilled one of the panels on one of them.

Very easy to assemble and solid after assembly

Exactly what we needed for a broom closet storage cabinet. We stacked two of them…they come with the hardware needed to stack and to attach to the back wall. The adjustable shelves were also part of the must have list when we went looking for a place to store various cleaning supplies, short and tall vases, etc.
