Leaking Delivery

So I did my research and this compressor seemed to be a good match for me. I placed the order but when it arrived it was laying on it's side with the box full of oil. I rejected the delivery. I spoke to my Lowe's representative and they ordered me a new one with special instructions to ship vertical. I purchased this unit to replace a 20-year-old craftsman air compressor that I never had a problem with until recently. I stayed with the craftsman brand, even though I saw many reviews online from people saying that their units leaked air from day one. I decided to take a chance. runs great leaks live a seive

Purchased in February 2024. ran great till about a month ago. Pumps up and within 48 hours its completely drained. No leaks obvious. Did some research online and appears the Head Valve Plate Assembly w/ Gaskets #05AACE is defective.

Poor quality control

Not built by Craftsman Picked one up on clearance price, took it home and did the break in procedure only to find several air leaks! After retightening several fittings I found an unfinished weld on top of the tank! How does something like that get out of a manufacturer building…obviously no quality control. Perfect garage compressor

This compressor is a major upgrade from my 25 year old Craftsman 5hp oilless 22gal unit, which was adequate for my needs, but i always wanted a bit more performance. The new unit has plenty of pressure (170 indicated when topped off) and has plenty of air volume for general residential shop work. It significantly outperforms the old one. Ran great out of the box, holds pressure great.

Was in great shape right out of the box. Fired right up, ran the break-in no problems. Then pressed up tank in about 6 or 7 minutes to the full rated pressure. Came down to about 160psi after temperature normalization. Has held pressure perfectly ever since, kicks in & out at appropriate set points. No belt or pulley issues. No oil issues. No pressure loss when static and no leaks from any fittings when running or using. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's still pretty new ...

On/Off switching can be sketchy…..

Overall the compressor is built using decent products except for the “Lafoo” pressure switch. This switch malfunctioned since its inaugural use. When switching to the *Off* position, it would trigger back on/return to the *On* position all by itself. (It has a cheap/simple “on/off” lever snagging design) …Sooo,….I eliminated it and replaced it with a “Condor brand” *On/Off* pressure switch. The Condor switch (often found on similar models) looks so much better, switches on and off “easier”, and...
