What Customers Are Saying
The edger attachment is effective at cutting clean, sharp edges and is easy to use with the trimmer. It has an adjustable depth control and is durable for home use, providing good value compared to a standalone edger. Some reviewers noted the blade wears down over time and it may require multiple passes for thick grass, but overall the attachment performs well and is a recommended purchase for homeowners.

I thought I try and was pleasantly surprise it attached to my Ryobi multi attachment unit. Works great.
I can see the threads inside are worn already
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) It’s working fine for now but I can see the connection threads inside are worn already. It doesn’t seem to be a sturdy one as it’s been only a few uses.

How to change the blade
This came free with a Craftsman Trimmer but after reading the reviews about breaking the shaft while changing the blade I was worried it was a worthless freebee. I found that in fact the nut is torqued on VERY tight and some form of locktite was used. The nut would not budge with a normal wrench and I was afraid it was going to break like in some other reviews. So here is how to get the nut off. I recommend doing this before the first use. Soak the nut liberally with your favorite penetrating oi...
Blade almost impossible to change
I liked this attachment until it came time to change the blade - which was near impossible and quite infuriating. Like another reviewer mentioned, the nut is just on there too tight and the hole where you place the rod to keep it from turning just strips out. I gave up trying and went out and bought a Ryobi Expand It. Just for comparison purposes I changed the blade before I even used it and there was a world of difference. The Ryobi blade came right off and you can see a difference in the quali...
Trimmer Plus LE720 Edger Attachment
The edger attachment has issues with the height adjustment wing nut coming loose, minutes into edging. The height adjuster is also very difficult when adjusting. I have fine-tuned my equipment and still have issues with the edger bogging down and jamming with dirt. I didn't get to finish the entire front yard before returning. I am looking into a dedicated edger. EDIT: I BOUGHT THE CRAFTSMAN DEDICATED EDGER. IT IS A NIGHT AND DAY COMPARISON. GO WITH THE DEDICATED EDGER IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION!
When the blade goes dull this becomes junk
When I first purchased this unit I loved it. It was a great tool for edging my property. However, when it came time to change the blade it was impossible to take off. Even knowing it is a reverse thread, we used an impact drill with no luck. So, I thought maybe I was just unlucky and bought a second unit. After the blade started getting a little dull I thought I would change it before it got too old and stuck on there. Again, no luck. I then bought a THIRD unit and we used the impact drill to re...
Poor job, too much work. Edge a foot a minute?
If only Zero stars were possible and if I recommend to a friend they would probably dump me as a friend. I am amazed this product received any good reviews at all. I replaced an electric edger with this one to run with a new Troy Built edger bought at the same time. This swaps from trimmer to edger quickly and easily good job with that. However that is where the ball gets dropped. The blade has a poor guide that leaves a lot to feel and eyeball. The terrible part of this is the blade turns in a ...
Second one!
Went to replace blade and it would not come off so I had to buy a replacement. Literally, the nut that holds the blade on would not come off and the tool that goes in the hole broke the casing apart while trying to loosen the nut. Yes, I know it's a left handed nut. Used a breaker bar and still nothing. Very disappointed. Outside that, the unit works great.

Really good edger attachment
I have had this edger for two or three seasons now and it works great. I try to edge every week when i mow, but I at least do it every other week. That being said, it gets a fir amount of use (and abuse) from me using it. I like my edging to be as deep as I can get it. Not sure why I do this, but thats just how I like it. This is what I mean by abuse, I push this tool a bit further than most people by digging a trench along my sidewalk edges. Even though I do this, it still works like it i...
Easy Edging!
I have had one of these for about 6 years, and it worked great! Unfortunately the shield/alignment fell off due to the blower falling on it just right. I use this and can edge my sidewalk, curb, and driveway in about a quarter of the time to use my wife's electric edger. (she can't use my weedeater due to it being heavier than she can use for long.) Plus, I can use my 4-cycle weedeater and swap back to the trimmer attachment without needing to roll up or pull out extension cords (that the ki...
