Open Box Item Sold As New
I'm deducting a star because this clearly was an open box returned item. It's the second time Lowe's has done this to me. The router felt dirty and the parts bag was torn open. Problems with collet and depth adjust
After about 8 months of light use, the collet refuses to come off without mounting the entire thing in a vice and using max force to unscrew it enough to remove a bit. Same with putting it back on. The depth adjustment has somehow created gouges in the aluminum shell and refuses to slide up or down. Sending back to Bosch for repair under their 12 month warranty program.

This router works like a dream. Bosch addressed the issue of poor bit depth adjustment of the older model. With this newer model, bit depth adjustment takes seconds. Unlock the router, set it to the depth, use the micro adjuster for precise depth, lock it, and then get to work. The LED light is also a nice touch. It's nice to have the extra light. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this several months ago and it was a good investment. The LED light illuminates the bit, making it easier to follow the cut as it is made. The edge guide is a great plus. And the 1.25 HP motor has plenty of power for this rugged palm router. You can store it neatly in the carrying case that's included in this kit.

Dewalt was out of stock
First bought the bosch 1.0 hp colt. It died after two weeks right in the middle of a job. So I took it back to lowes to exchange it and upgrade to the dewalt, but the dewalt was out of stock. I had to have something to finish the job I was on, so I bought the 1.25 hp. The jury is still out on whether it will last. I think bosch started using cheap bearings cause both units sounded terrible at start up and stopping.

Should've bought this first!
I sort of went overboard thinking I needed the large plunger based Bosch and ended up buying this on top. Of course I use this Colt more than the larger unit and will likely end up putting the large router on the router table which I still haven't set up. I love the light and also how comfortable it is to hold. The variable speed control is a very nice feature and swear by Bosch's quality with their routers. I bought this router yesterday. I use routers for my hobby of sign & picture making. Within 5 minutes of use, the router became very hot.
