Great router

I have been using this router for about 10 years for my hobby. It’s been a great tool.

I have owned this router combo kit for about 3 years and bought another so I could leave one in the router table. All in all, this router is great and with it being a deal of the day I could not pass it up for the price.

Great general purpose router

Great general purpose router, well built and reliable. I own 3 of these sets, the oldest of which is 20 years old and still going strong. The plunge base is intuitive and solid; no slop as it moves up and down. The fixed base is OK. I rarely use a fixed base on this size router. I used it in my first router table, it's so so. Fine for light work, but you really need a 3hp router for a table. Overall, this would be my first pick if you're only going to have 1 router.

Great quality build, even after 20+ years of manuf

Great bundle at a reasonable price. I have purchased three (3) of these Bosch 1617 packages since 2005. All routers are still working. One of them I had to change the on/off switch after 10 years of use, but other than that repair, they just keep on working. The third router motor I will use in my horizontal router table, which is great for cutting mortises. Great router, highly recommend

Works great. I have zero previous router experience so I had zero expectations going in. But this router combo is recommended by a lot of wood working people, so I went with it. Got a fantastic deal on it too thanks to a Lowe's one day sale. Only thing I wish it had was a vacuum hookup, but I can buy that accessory and probably will.

A standard for a reason

Gold standard of routers at this price point. Great machine I just wish it included a dust collection shroud.

Substandard parts

I’ve used my router four times. The fourth time I used it the spring clamp on the dial adjuster moved out of the slot and marred up the shaft and will no longer stay engaged. It is simply too flimsy and the fixed base is now useless. I see why they only warrant it for one year, it’s just over two and barely used.

Solid all-around router

Solid build all-around and powerful, smooth motor. Plunge base could be smoother but works fine. Super value at this price point.
