Had this mailbox for less than two years before the lock failed completely, forcing me to drill it out. The replacement lock from Easy Keys will be a three-month lead time and cost $30. You’d expect a lock to last longer than that. Unfortunately, it’s not covered under warranty. Will replace with a generic lock and purchase a different brand mailbox next time.

Is really nice knowing someone cannot just go through your mailbox whenever they want. We witnessed this one day as someone was walking up the street in broad daylight going through everyone's mailbox. At times we have found mail that is still in the entry door but only once or twice. No theft worries
It arrived on time and was well protected in the box. It is heavy solid built. I did not purchase the mounting plate, instead i bought squared off ubolts the size of the pre-drilled and long enough to drop pass a 4 x 4 and bolted it on tight. There were no surprises, however not a big deal but would have preferred to have the unlocking door in the rear vs front for safety and lazy reasons. This mail box will last for years. Strong and Reliable
This is actually the second one I’ve purchased because of the durability. A thief destroyed my mailbox trying to gain access and it was strong enough to prevent the thief from getting into my mailbox to steal the mail from my business. Because of the appearance of the mailbox after being struck with tools trying to open it I decided to replace the mailbox with another one just like the original mailbox.

Nice Sturdy Mailbox, Tricky to Mount on Wood
This mailbox is a nice design, solidly build, and seems reasonably secure. Downside, it is designed to be installed on a post with a matching baseplate. It comes with no mounting hardware, you get that with the baseplate, and the mounting holes are huge, to accommodate 9/16" bolts . So if you are installing it on a wood beam, say like in a community mailbox, you need to come up with your own hardware. I used 4 #10 woodscrews 2" long in 5/8" brass washers. Who makes spare keys for this mailbox?
Mailbox requires different mounting tray then listed on packing box. Also only 2 keys are included, if you need additional keys you must find/locate keylock number and then go to 3rd party supplier (Easykey.com) give them the keylock number and make sure you're sitting down when they tell you the cost per key( my mailbox spare keys are $14.95 each plus shipping/tax) i tried to have my local Lowes make the spare keys but they could not match the type of key provided with mailbox.
