Our Commitment

This year, we made a commitment to deliver 10 million square feet of impact in the places we call home. This commitment is part of Lowe’s more than 100-year legacy of rolling up our sleeves to help neighbors when they need it most.

Each square foot improved makes a lasting impact. We’ve helped to rebuild after storms, assisted neighbors in repairing the homes they love and worked to revitalize the spaces that help communities thrive. The passion behind our commitment to help isn’t new. This is simply a new way to measure the impact made when Lowe’s shows up to help — inch by inch, foot by foot.

Lowe’s Answered the Call When MrBeast Needed Help

Over the July 4th weekend, devastating floods impacted Texas Hill Country, leaving a wave of destruction across the area, including the Alveus Sanctuary. This wildlife sanctuary provides permanent homes for non-releasable animals.

When MrBeast, the world’s largest creator and YouTuber, heard about the organization’s needs, he knew just who to call — Lowe’s.

As part of Lowe’s commitment to delivering 10 million square feet of impact, Lowe’s Red Vest associates rolled up their sleeves to help.

Making an Impact by Serving Those Who Served

Across the nation, Lowe’s Red Vest associates are helping to rebuild and revitalize places that serve as the hubs and heartbeats for the communities we serve — including spaces dedicated to helping military families and veterans. Whether working with transitional housing programs or USO centers that serve as a home away from home for families living on military bases, Lowe’s is improving thousands of square feet dedicated to serving those who serve.

For the Central Mecklenburg American Legion Post 321, Lowe’s help in renovating its 3,500-square foot facility will continue to make an impact for the veterans who seek fellowship there.

Through partnerships with Building Homes for Heroes and Purple Heart Homes, Lowe’s helps welcome veterans and their families into safe, affordable homes.

Our Community Engagements

Lowe’s Hometowns

Lowe’s Hometowns is a five-year, $100 million commitment to revitalize and renovate community spaces nationwide. Each year, through 2026, Lowe’s selects 100 large-scale community projects nominated by consumers and 1,700 smaller community impact projects selected by Lowe’s associates.

By collaborating with local community organizations and nonprofits and leveraging the expertise of Lowe’s Red Vest associates, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

Safe and Affordable Housing

Each year Lowe’s partners with select nonprofits, such as Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity, to identify and complete critical home repairs in the most vulnerable neighborhoods across America. As a home improvement retailer, we’re uniquely suited to address this issue — not just through financial contributions but also by providing the products needed to get the job done.

Every year, Lowe’s Red Vest associates provide hearts-in, hands-on expertise by teaming up with our nonprofit partners at many of the home repair projects, sharing in the opportunity to help their communities thrive.

Disaster Relief

As a home improvement retailer, Lowe’s priority is to be there for our associates and communities before, during and after a natural disaster. Following disasters, our recovery efforts include distributing critically needed cleanup supplies through our Bucket Brigades, partnering with local organizations to hand out free meals, and deploying our mobile Tool Rental Disaster Response Trailer to help people get both homes and businesses up and running.

Our support for communities also includes financial support of numerous disaster relief nonprofits that respond to immediate needs and rebuilding efforts in the months and years following the event.
