Our Impact in Action

100 Renovation Grants Kick Off Season of Transformation and Lasting Impact

This fall, Lowe’s associates will transform spaces big and small as they tackle more than 2,000 community impact projects, including 100 large-scale, grant-funded projects. The impact of these projects will breathe new life into community resources nationwide.

The Lowe’s Community Impact program helps renovate and restore physical spaces, like parks, community gardens, food pantries, shelters, schools, fire departments and veterans centers, with the goal of helping community organizations strengthen their services and expand their impact.

One such organization is 5th Squad in Pearl, Mississippi, which offers services to the state’s substantial veteran population. Lowe’s Red Vest associates will roll up their sleeves to help the organization build out office space to support its veteran outreach program, creating a private space to help families navigate resources and connect to benefits.

Lowe’s Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Habitat for Humanity With Pop-Up Events

This summer, Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity brought neighbors together through service — celebrating five decades of helping families build safe, affordable places to call home.

Lowe’s invited customers at 20 stores to roll up their sleeves to help craft a range of items, from frames and bird houses to Adirondack chairs, to benefit Habitat for Humanity’s critical mission. In addition, the events provided a place for neighbors to connect with volunteer opportunities and explore more ways to support Lowe’s longtime partner.

These events build on Lowe’s more than 20-year partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Earlier this year, Lowe’s and Habitat announced a $2 million investment in critical repair programs. These funds will help hundreds of homeowners safely remain in the homes they love.

Our Community Engagements

Community Impact Projects

At Lowe’s, we believe strong communities are built by the people who know them best. Every neighborhood has opportunities to grow — whether it’s restoring a shared space, improving places where neighbors connect or increasing access to vital resources. Meaningful change starts with local ideas, and that’s where our commitment begins. Every year, we invite customers and associates to share ideas for community-improvement projects inspired by the needs and potential of their hometowns.

Safe and Affordable Housing

Each year Lowe’s partners with select nonprofits, such as Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity, to identify and complete critical home repairs in the most vulnerable neighborhoods across America. As a home improvement retailer, we’re uniquely suited to address this issue — not just through financial contributions but also by providing the products needed to get the job done.

Every year, Lowe’s Red Vest associates provide hearts-in, hands-on expertise by teaming up with our nonprofit partners at many of the home repair projects, sharing in the opportunity to help their communities thrive.

Disaster Relief

As a home improvement retailer, Lowe’s priority is to be there for our associates and communities before, during and after a natural disaster. Following disasters, our recovery efforts include distributing critically needed cleanup supplies through our Bucket Brigades, partnering with local organizations to hand out free meals, and deploying our mobile Tool Rental Disaster Response Trailer to help people get both homes and businesses up and running.

Our support for communities also includes financial support of numerous disaster relief nonprofits that respond to immediate needs and rebuilding efforts in the months and years following the event.
