It worked until it no longer did.

The Air Vent 1170 CFM Electric Power Roof Vent was installed on August 6, 2024, and ceased to function on July 19, 2025. The sad thing is that it costs almost as much to return it to Air Vent, Inc. in Dallas, Texas as it cost when I purchased it. Plus, I would have an open hole in my roof while I awaited their determination for a warranty coverage, if it qualified. 2.9 Million Recalled - Fire Hazard

I own one of the 2.9 million of these fans that was recalled. Airvent requires a smart phone, downloading an app and then taking a picture of the motor before a refund would be issued. I do not have a smart phone. I called Airvent and requested that I send them a photo via email. Their representative was very rude and insisted that I get a friend or relative with a smart phone and take a picture that way. Thermostat Not Calibrated

I bought this unit to install when roofers were at my house to complete a project. After climbing through my attic twice to tinker with the thermostat, it will only shut off when the dial is cranked all the way to 120 even though my attic temperature was reading 88 degrees. I.e., faulty thermostat from the factory. Now I have another one on order (Different brand) so I can arrange to have it replaced at the same time I take this defective one out to return it. Likely a one off but all the same.....

I've not installed the fan yet. It's replacing a fan I'd installed about 4 years ago. The bearings on that one were failing & making an awful scraping/grinding noise. Couldn't find my docs to warranty it so had to buy a new one. Lowe's to the rescue. I had purchased the last one from Lowe's arch nemesis, Home Cheapo. Glad i bought from Lowes. Exactly what we needed.

We purchased this fan to go above our kitchen in the attic. We have an identical one running in our garage and we liked it. The cfm output matched our square footage of the area we wanted to ventilate. These fans run quiet and the thermostat is a plus compared to manual control. It was about a 2 hour install on a metal roof and the instructions were spot on.

Worked less than 6months

When the fan worked it sounded like a helicopter was over the house and vibrated the interior walls below its location in the attic. One day I stopped hearing it run, crawled up in the attic and the motor was HOT to the touch and the fan would not work. Luckily I did not have a fire from the overheated motor in a already hot attic. I am mad because I had to pay for new whole vent fan installation(another brand). Bought two of these to achieve more airflow in my attic, install was pretty easy, just took the old whirlybirds off and popped these in place. I painted the domes black to match my roof color. wiring was easy enough with a couple of wire nuts and some romex. They ran all day in 96* weather but they moved more air than the old turbines so that's a win
