Pretty good paint

Would Recommend

I used this on an old fence that had moss and stuff still growing on it. I didn't prime or clean the fence beyond spraying it with a hose. With one coat, this paint covered and made the fence white. With two coats in some places, it was able to completely overwhelm the green still growing on the fence. I would purchase it again.

Great Paint

Would Recommend

I painted a 30-year old house with rough plywood siding, like you see on most sheds. It had not been painted since new and the wood was very thirsty. I used semi-gloss StormCoat and was very happy with the results. Sealed very well and looks great a year later. I did need 3-4 coats in the most damaged areas. Each new coat goes on easier and takes less paint. Anyone having problems probably did not do good surface prep. Painting a house is like painting a car, good surface cleaning and pre...

DO NOT BUY

Would Not Recommend

We painted our house less than a year ago. It looked great for about 6 months then our neighbors told us to look at the side of the house. When we did we were shocked so we started looking around the house at other areas more closely. The paint looks awful. We are going to have to repaint the whole house in less than a year! This is totally unacceptable. We will not recommend this paint to anyone!

Great results!

Would Recommend

I painted three old semi truck doors with it. Worked and covered great with a brush. The doors looked terrible and were a mix of wood, old paint and rust stains. It covered in one coat but two coats look like new!

used valspar storm coat exterior flat to paint my house. at first it looked wonderful but the next day when it was dry it had white streaks. when my husband sprayed it with the water hose thinking that would take care of it we also ended up with water marks that seem to be permanent. i would not recommend this paint for outside house painting.

The paint itself is fine; it holds up and is easy to apply. However it is about $20.00 higher than comparable paints at other locations. 20% is enough to make me look elsewhere.

Beautiful coverage.

Would Recommend

I am in the process of using this paint for the trim of my house. It dries wonderfully and the coverage is more than pleasing, even on the gutters and downspouts. I am using also, to paint the ceiling of my exposed porch and it covered a much darker color in almost one coat. I was initially thinking I was going to need 3 for adequate coverage, but it looks like two will easily take care of it.

great paint

This paint was the best paint I've used so far. It's thicker than most so it covers well and goes on easy. Thanks valspar for making such a good product.

Excellent product!

Would Recommend

I do not understand the reviewer who says his paint did not dry in 17 hours. I used this paint when the temperature was around 70 to 80 degrees and if anything, it dried extremely fast! I was painting fiber cement siding and I would estimate it was drying to touch in about 15 to 30 minutes. This paint is pretty thick and I ended up cutting it down with water. This is excellent paint and either the reviewer giving it bad reviews works for a competitor, did not stir the paint, or was painting over...

Paint is supposed to dry right?

Would Not Recommend

The can says that the "tack free" time is 1-2 hours depending on the temperature. After 17 hours the paint was still liquid. Since it was a little humid and a little cool outside I then put a tent over the entire thing and put a propane heater in there. Several hours later the paint was still liquid. The only nice thing about this paint is when you decide to give up and use a different paint you can just wash it off with a garden hose.

While humidity and temperature effect the drying time considerably the tent itself, while put up in an effort to help, is in fact prolonging the dry t...

Love our new look!

We purchased 20 gallons of gypsy teal and 10 gallons of white. We have a large house and are not quite done with the trim yet. If the weather would just cooperate I think a few more days will do it. We also purchased a graco airless sprayer. The teal covered in one coat and looks great, the white however is taking 3 coats, but bear in mind we are covering dark brown. As for the 15 year warranty , only time will tell! The X5 Graco is wonderful! Would give it 5 stars all day long! I have a photo t...
