paint bubbles when I use these rollers

It seems the sponge type material holds air and when pressure is applied while applying paint, the air seeps into the paint causing these little blisters. I recommend saturating the roller well, before use, applying enough pressure to force the air out of the roller while it is completely submerged in the paint. Other recommendation is not to use them. Try a fine nap roller instead.

I am 70 years old. Have painted professionally since1968. I never saw this problem until the introduction of acrylic paint. Now it takes me a lot longer to roll a wall because of the little bubbles.

I have only used It over walls, but I did sand down the area first & wipe it clean with a damp cloth
