It depends on what you plan on securing. For 4x4 or 6x6 posts plan for at least a 2' depth.

To completely fill a hole having a 12” diameter with a single bag of mixed concrete, the depth of the hole would be approximately 5.7 inches deep. This will vary based upon waste, uneven sub-grade, etc.
