Smell is not bad at all.

Hello. Any oil-based product will impart an odor. it is wise to ventilate the area that you are working on until our Oil-Based Polyurethane fully cures. Regards, Minwax Product Support

No. I use it to finish furniture indoors and I haven't noticed a strong smell.
