Need to seal butcher block kitchen counters. Can I use this? If not, what can I use? I've thought about natural oil finish since food prep is issue.


Best to use natural waxes formulated with beeswax thinned with mineral oil. Carnauba was is also food safe.

For food applications, use Howard Butcher Block Conditioner. Easy to use with really nice results. It actually protects against staining.

If you want a food safe finish, this is not the advisable finish to use. Waterlox is an option, or natural oil like you mentioned.
