Was this Answer Helpful ?think the math is off . 24 square feet at 3 inches deep would be 24 X .25 = 6 cu feet or 3 bags of mulch to get 3 inches thick
Was this Answer Helpful ?36*36*36=46656 cubic inches per cubic yard * 2 cubic yards = 93312 cubic inches per bag. a square yard = 1296 sq. in. x 3 in deep = 3888 cubic in. divide 93312 cubic in by 3888 cubic in per 2 cubic ft bag so one bag will cover 24 square ft. with mulch 3 in. deep.

Was this Answer Helpful ?Lowes has a calculator that you can use - the big question is what is your puropose of the mulch, looks or weed control. Weed control for wood chips needs 3 inches - looks - enough to cover - 1 inch or so.
Was this Answer Helpful ?For a heavy application of mulch (which I recommend to keep the weeds down) I use the width & length of the bag - one bag covers the size of the bag. Too much is better than too little.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Depends on the coverage thickness.--each bag has two cubic feet of product. @ 6" thick it would cover 4 sq. ft. @ 3" thick it would cover 8 sq. ft. @ 1" thick it would cover 24 sq. ft Get the drift?
Was this Answer Helpful ?First measure the square feet of area to cover. The look on the bag, there will be a coverage scale. This scale will tell you how many bags are needed for how many square feet you have to cover.
