Your yard has been slumbering all winter. Now it’s time for it to rise and shine. Here are three quick tips to prepare your yard for spring.
1) Dethatch and rake. Thatch is a mat of tangled, intertwined grass and other material on the ground surface. If you have too much thatch, water, air, and nutrients can’t get to the soil, and that weakens the root systems.
2) Survey your lawn. If you have bare spots, use some all-in-one seed/fertilizer mix to start new growth and bring life back to those areas.
3) Clean out flowerbeds. Remove any weeds, dead annuals, and other debris that’s been collecting there. Your soil will warm up, and your perennials will be thankful for the sunlight.
