Siding trim is used to cover exposed panels and to weatherproof the corners around doors and windows, among other applications. It also adds a clean and finished look to your home’s exterior. At Lowe’s, we offer a wide variety of siding options, including sheets, F-channel siding, gables, trim coil and J-channel siding.
There are a variety of siding trim materials available, including vinyl, wood and metal siding trim. Popular among homeowners, metal options are highly durable and resistant to rot and moisture damage. Along with your siding trim, consider installing metal soffits beneath the roof overhang to connect the edge of the roof to the exterior walls. These are available as vented metal soffits, which feature perforations for better air circulation in your attic, as well as solid metal soffits, which don’t have any holes for airflow, giving the underside of the roof a clean look. But these solid soffits are suitable only if the roof has a separate ventilation system.
Trim coil refers to flexible sheets of metal siding made from a high-quality aluminum alloy. It allows for easy handling and precise forming around edges and corners — especially when used as siding trim for windows and doors. Most trim coil options come with a two-coat finish designed for superior adhesion. You can choose from a range of colors, including brown, white, black and gray. Some options feature stain-resistant surfaces with acrylic topcoats that help retain the glossy finish over time.
You’ll also find J-channel siding designed for trimming openings around windows, doors and louvers. It hides cut lines to give the installation a professional and clean appearance.
