PEX Pipe for a Flexible Water Flow

Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) pipe is a flexible plastic pipe that works well in hot and cold plumbing systems, among other applications.

PEX pipe comes in red, blue, orange, purple and white. Each color has a distinct use, making it easy to distinguish between water lines. Blue and red are for transporting cold and hot water. Orange pipe is for radiant and hydronic heating systems. Purple is for reclaimed water.

Many fittings come in corrosion-resistant brass to provide strong, durable connections between PEX pipes. Use elbows to change the direction of the water flow. Use a tee to divide or combine the flow.
