Check Condition of Outer Box and Contents

When we picked up the box in the store, the outside of the box was all torn up in several places and had been taped up but even the tape coming off. We shared our concern about the bad condition of the box with Lowe's customer service and expressed concern about the condition of the inside contents (the bench). We were told that that's the "usual" the condition of boxes that are shipped to the store and that the contents should be fine, and if they weren't then we could return it. We were surpri...

Came broken - hassle to replace/return

Don't buy this. Right out of the box it was broken and we noticed one of the pre-drilled holes for leg/arm was not lined up either. On phone for 40 minutes to get this picked up for a refund.

Poorly designed; holes not aligned

We have plenty of furniture that we bought directly from Polywood that are great. The quality is not the same for this bench. This bench arrived with holes not aligned and boards seemed warped. My husband assembled it, and close up you can tell it’s poorly made. It also has a metal bar at the back which I did not realize was there when we bought. I wonder if it was added for stability in view of poor structural design and implementation.

Pre-drilled holes in wrong location

Like other reviewers, my bench had the pre-drilled holes in the wrong location on the legs of the bench (the holes to attach the front of the seat to the legs.) Instead of returning the bench, I drilled the holes in the correct location allowing me to put the bench together. Also, one of the back slats is loose. For the price I expected more. It’s ok but next time I won’t get anything Allen + Roth by Polywood because I don’t think the quality control is up to standard.

Great for 4 months and then.......

We have enjoyed the bench since it arrived. It was easy to assemble and arrived quickly. We used it regularly. 3 days ago we were sitting on the bench as we have many, many times enjoying the afternoon. My wife asked if I felt as if we were "sinking", I did! I got up to check the bench and the legs were bending to the point the seat had dropped 3-4 inches! The attached photos show the legs 3 days after. Third time wasn’t the charm!

I have ordered 3 of this bench! Love the look and arrears to be durable, BUT 1. First bench - arm came off immediately after putting it together. The arm comes preattached to the leg. There is only one screw holding the arm on. 2. Second bench - Once assembled, it was carried down to the patio. The first time someone sat on it, the slats on the back of the bench became loose and were crooked. 3. Third bench - The screw that holes the back and side together, lacked 1/4 inch going in the predrille...

Nice bench!

I have a lot of Polywood furniture on my patio and it is heavy and sturdy and easy to clean. I bought this bench for the front porch. A small decorative piece came out of the package broken off and that is why I took off one star. It isn’t very noticeable and doesn’t weaken the bench so I will probably just glue it in place. The bench was delivered and is much too heavy for me to have returned to the store. I put it together in a short time. I remain a big fan of Polywood products and Lowe’s.

Perfect Experience

Thank you for a wonderfully made, and easy to put together bench. Every screw hole lined up perfectly! It too less than 10 minutes to assemble. Delivered in 3days! I originally purchased a Trex bench of the same size,it took 6 weeks to receive because it was "made to order"...my butt!... it was absolutely a return!... nothing lined up, there were double holes drilled, and it was dirty...all at a price of $125 more than this A&R...will Never buy anything from trex again ...the only thing worse...

Another Bad Assembly Story To Share

While this should have been the easiest assembly known to mankind as there were only 4 parts & 8 bolts! However just as others have noted in reviews, the holes were not lined up on both arms and back making it impossible to attach the parts. Returning it sadly!

Good material/bad assembly

Love the look and feel of this. But… the side screw on left side would not go in! Had the seat slat screw sticking down in hole, had to take it out and shorten it to let the other go in then it was stripped ftom hitting the one that had to be shortened and had to be epoxied in. Very poor workmanship for a 300.00 bench!
