Not compatible with water-based stain
First, it isn't sanded well. Second, the wood conditioner they use will make a blotchy mess of water-based stain. The only way you know it is conditioned is because the instructions tell you to stain it within 48 hours of removing the plastic because of the conditioner. You'll be sanding with 80, 150, and 220 to get rid of the conditioning. It took a lot of sanding to get to look right.
