What Customers Are Saying
The Whirlpool top-loading washing machine has a mix of positive and negative reviews. Customers appreciate the large capacity, removable agitator, and simple controls, finding the washer efficient, quiet, and effective at cleaning clothes. However, some customers report issues with insufficient water fill, problems with the spin cycle and water drainage, and excessive noise during operation. There are also reports of premature control panel or component failures requiring costly repairs. While the washer works well for some, there appear to be quality control and design issues that have led to a frustrating experience for many customers.

the washer did ok, even though very loud. The reason I say don't buy is my washer had a major malfunction. either a circuit board fail or motor went out. to fix it is almost as much as buying a new one. whirlpool won't do anything to stand behind their product. don't buy unless you purchase the 5 year extended warranty.
Do not buy
I bought this washer from Lowe's. It has broken twice already thankfully it is still under warranty (if you would call it that). It has been broken for a week and I just keep getting the run around from Lowe's protection plan. It was approved to be fixed, I set an appointment, the repair people came out to "fix" it in a personal car, with no parts, and obliviously no intentions of fixing it. I was told I would be contacted when they got the part. Days later the repair people are still waiting on...

2yrs and making noises
Bought in 2024. The transmission is making a clicking sound. If you buy one, get the 3yr warranty. They have figured out how to get your money, short you on quality and keep you coming back. This not Lowe's. This is all appliance companies.

after reading other reviews that were around the 2 yr mark like me. Whirlpool ought to be ashamed of themselves. I bought a whirlpool because of the brand name. NEVER AGAIN. whirlpool just says sorry and does nothing about it. I was on hold yesterday for an entire hour before someone answered

Very Disappointed
Had this machine 1 1/2 years but never been impressed with it, and it's getting worse. Wash cycle stops after draining wash water. I have to cancel the cycle and switch it to rinse. It doesn't spin out as much water as it should, and sometimes just doesn't spin at all. With a very small load it fills with too much water; with a medium load it doesn't fill up with enough water - will look after 5 minutes and there are still dry clothes on top. I've tried to unplug and recalibrate to no avail....

Junk
Bought the set new in April 2024 and it won’t stop draining. Have to unplug the washer so pump will stop. Tried calling customer service number to speak to someone about the issue that obviously is a problem for many other people from all the reviews and forums online but of course it’s automated and can’t speak to a real breathing person

Don't waste your $$
The removable agitator combined with the price at the time I bought it ($580) was what initially drew me to this washer. It worked alright for about a year, then it quickly became nothing but a headache for the past two. I've had this machine for a total of 3 years, and it has had the gear that spins the drum replaced four times before they finally gave us a rebate for a new one. The gear is plastic when it should be steel, and it just wears down to nothing and emits an AWFUL grinding spin sound...

Bad Investment
I recently faced a frustrating issue with this machine, which ceased functioning only two months after the warranty period ended. This early breakdown has left me extremely disappointed, and it has prompted me to rethink my choice of brand for all my future purchases. If it were possible, I would definitely rate this Whirlpool product with negative stars, as I expected much better longevity and reliability from a product in this price range. If it were possible, I would definitely rate this purc...

Just Recall the washer for a defective Board
I’ve been reading reviews on this site and also Reddit to see if others were having the same issue and the consensus seems to be yes. After owing this washer for about a year and 7 months it’s junk. It started about 2 months prior that it wouldn’t drain the water after a cycle so you’d have to cancel then manually select drain and spin to get your clothes unsoaked. Now about a week ago it’s draining the water before you can even get a cycle started. We’ve unplugged it and let it sit, adjusted th...
