Well made
Well - the mounting kit it comes with is really for a house. I wanted it for a solar trailer, to use like a heat lamp without the eye damage. The heat is somewhat directional. It is 37f out and keeping the trailer (12x5x6, moderate insulation) at 55f, but just barely. Standing under it is warm. It works for what I bought it for. It is pulling 320w according to my kill-a-watt on house power, and 350w according to the battery controller on the solar trailer. It is well made, seemingly n...
Did not work for us
So disappointed! We were very excited about far-IR technology which sounds perfect for our situation. We are living in a tiny drafty pop-up while building a passive solar house. We need something to give us a little warmth now and figured it would be a test for supplementing our house heat when needed -- figured this little guy could eventually go on our house's bathroom ceiling. We heard far-IR provides instant warming to your body in line-of-sight even though it takes much longer to heat the...

Wextar 400W Infrared Panel Heater does not hea
Returned heater because it could not manage to heat a 72sq ft sunroom if temp was below 45 degrees. I will note that room has windows on 3 of 4 walls but still is ONLY 72 sq ft. Also it does not have an on/off switch but a separate plug in outlet with an on/off toggle switch was included but is not even mentioned anywhere in manual or packaging. It maintains that it heats objects not air but a different 350W panel heater at least warned a nearby chair but this 400W did not warm any object.
Warm
Easy to install and does a great job of warming a traditionally cold room in my house.

Great Porch Heater
Installed 2 in my porch ceiling. Easy. Very stylish. As advertised. Not a quick heat up of the room, but a slow steady warm up. Used in conjunction with a ceiling fan pushing air up (not down) and the room temp is well distributed. Just what I was looking for. If you want the quick 10 minute room warm up, these heaters are NOT for you.
Wanted white but black came
I kept it though I wanted the white one. Only reason for dropping a star. The 400W version makes a 100sqft room 70 degrees and needs a thermostat added to be perfect. Saves 1100 watts versus a noisy space heater. Noiseless Radiant heat is nice.

SUPER EFFICIENT!
I bought a vintage 1962 mobile home in July and the previous owners said it cost close to $200 a month to heat in the winter, which is incredibly expensive for a 520 sq ft area. Ancient insulation and unique removable double payne glass. So I saw these infrared panels and decided to try them. I bought 1 800 watt, 600 watt and 400 watt all for about $750.00. That’s a total of 1800 watts. As a comparison my little ceramic heater is 1500 watts and barely kept my bedroom warm, was very expensive and...
