Our wind load-rated kit is designed with specific hardware, such as jamb brackets, hinges, rollers and reinforcing struts that can withstand wind pressures. These combined components, along with the door sections themselves, make up a complete wind load system and help protect your home against garage door failure during a high wind event. This product has been tested under +40.5/-46.20 PSF conditions to form a +25.0/-28.2 PSF 160MPH design. Proper door selection is the responsibility of the homeowner. Wind speed assumes a typical application and category B topography as defined by ASCE 7-16. Prior to purchase, consult your local building code official, certified engineer or architect for wind load requirements in your specific location. Installation not included. Package requires purchase of a wind load rated door. This wind load kit cannot be sold without wind load rated door.

Buy the windload kit if you live in Florida.

Would Recommend

Nothing wrong with the product at all. The only real problem with it is that the rollers are in the windload kit, so if you need the new garage doors, you MUST buy the windload kit also. I think it is a bad deal that in Florida we need the kit, but they sell it separately, and of course Lowes doesn't train their staff to tell you this. I had to go back to Lowes to get the windload kit and they only had 1 in stock. It took me another week to get it sent from another store before i finally was abl...
