Pleasure all around. The product was a lot to apply and results were great

If you've got the time this could be the paint.
I find the dry time is three times other topsides brands. On the same day, so with the same conditions, I applied Total Boat Wet Edge topside paint to one cockpit sole and a competing brand to the cockpit benches. The benches were ready for the second cote the following morning. The Total Boat took three full days to be ready for sanding to apply the second coat. This said I find myself using Total Boat Wet Edge more often as the price point is good. i just plan on giving it three or four da...

Quality last
I’m restoring a 1967 Sunfish which I found had been left outside for probably more than 10 years. It required a lot of sanding, replacing self bailer, sail and some hardware so I wasn’t going to trust the paint job to anything less than a top quality paint. I’m 79 and expect to be sailing it for the next 10 years without painting except for perhaps touching up a dock kiss or two.

Nice paint to apply.
Great paint so far. Flows nicely and gives a smooth finish.

Poor value
Flat black. No matter how thin it is applied or how, it does not dry unless outside in full sun and 75+ degrees, forgotaboutit below 65 degrees. In a garage, doors open and 75 degree days, still tacky and leaving fingerprints after 3 days. Tip and brush, brush, sprayed same result. Even week old paint will come off with a rag and some mineral spirits and very mild rubbing. Recoat times are horrible, and it feel like you are coating over fly paper. If you are used to automotive paints, or even ...

Wrong color
I bought this paint a week ago and just sprayed my boat with the khaki color. You need to make sure you spray with primer first so the paint sticks well. But the color khaki turned out light green. I was not looking for this color and there’s not much I can do about it now unless I re sanded my boat and sprayed it again. Be aware of the color khaki and how it turns out.

Good cover. Some extra work/thought req'd
Much darker than showed on my devices. Nearly a black when applied. Flowed well, but brush application not recommended.

Happy customer
Very happy with this paint. Only issue preventing a 5 star was that it took 2 coats to cover completely. I rolled it on and you have to be careful to not skid the roller or it will leave a bare spot. Paint dried to a nice hard gloss and it seems pretty durable. I would definitely buy again.

VOCs are strong!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually try to stay away from paints like this. It's viscous enough that brushstrokes take some real effort. You have to wear a respirator even outdoors on a breezy day, the VOCs are obscene! Cleaning brushes is...fugeddaboudit. Maybe the cleaner that total boat sells works better, but standard procedure for cleaning brushes with paint thinner fail miserably, and the paint is then exceptionally slow to settle out of the thinner so you can...
