Pretty Door - Terrible Warranty Support

A piece of our door broke off. I submiitted a warranty claim to Therma-tru who kicked it to Lowe's for processing who kicked it to Woodcraft who apparently makes the doors for Therma-tru. The claim seems to be a in black hole with no response from anyone who can advance the process. Terrible service on a $6000 item. Never, ever again would I purchase this product or anything like it from Lowes.

Beautiful door, crap quality

The door arrived a little beat up and with paint all over the glass, like other owners have complained of, but my biggest complaint is the cheap quality of all the products involved. The frame is so cheap that in the first year of ownership, I have had to have the door adjusted TWICE because the frame is so weak that it cannot support the weight of the door, resulting in it sagging and not opening/closing properly. Would avoid at all costs.

Lazily made and below-average materials.

We had this door custom made for us. The tape job was shoddy, and you can see residual black paint on the glass in multiple places, as well as in corners. Can’t attach as many photos as I would want to. The panes aren’t flush with the glass - or even flush with the other pieces and you can see between them. The stickers it was covered in were super gluey and I’ll need a special cleaner to get it off of the glass. The side of the door where the locking mechanism is is so flimsy, it broke in TWO ...

Paint all over the glass

Given the cost of the door, it should have come ready to install. Instead, I'm here with an exact-o knife and paint remover scraping off all the paint that all over the glass. Really disappointing.

DO NOT BUY THIS DOOR

Of all the upgrades we've performed at our new home, including multiple door replacements, this door, without a doubt, should not be SOLD. If I could return it, I would, hell, if I could uninstall it, and lay it by the curb for the trash, I would.
