Stair gauge
Using these make using a square faster and simpler. It allows you to line up the square and position it without any hesitation or slippage.

Very poor workmanship
I bought 4 pair and they were all machined improperly. The ones from General Tool are more far better quality.. It's to had to explain in detail why. But I've been buying and using and losing stair gauges for more than 20 years.

Awesome Value
High quality gauges. One of those "MUST HAVES" small tools to make work faster and accurate.

AWESOME Product!
Worked great on cutting out my stair stringers. When working outside with temperature fluctuations, make sure you tighten the brass periodically on your steel or aluminum squares. The different thermal expansion rates between brass and steel/aluminum means that these may loosen up.
Great Buy
This is one of those tools that you never knew you needed until you need it. Sure you can lay out stair stringers by lining up the marks on your framing square each time, but an investment of less than $5 will cut your layout time by 75-80% AND improve accuracy. Well worth the price even if you only use them one time.
