Nice solution
We moved into a house with a small fireplace in the center of our home. Running a gas line was too expensive and this is a good alternative. As in a previous review did, we added a piece of wood underneath to get a great fit. It looks great. Only thing is that the heat output could be better, we really can't feel it unless we are directly in front of the unit. But overall happy with my purchase
Stopped Working
We bought this insert and were very pleased. We chose to use the log and not the crystals. It was only used for looks, changing the colors, never used the heating option. One day, it wouldn't come on, husband looked at it and can't not find any problem as to why it would just stop. We purchased this fireplace in November (only used for 30 some, 40 some days) and are now out money because of the standard warranty.

Very good insert
I mounted this in the opening a fireplace that wasn't being used by my elderly mother. Easy to operate and install. I just attached a 2x4 to the opening of the fireplace and mounted the bracket to the 2x4. We had a receptacle nearby but has a pretty long cord. Looks great, lots of flame color options. Puts out a fair amount of heat. Has a thermostat. Very happy with it! It's heavier then it looks, about 50lbs shipping weight.

Good value fireplace
This electric fireplace met our needs in terms of size and cost. It’s definitely the fanciest, but the flames look good enough, and the heater definitely works. We like that we can set separate blower speeds and temperature thresholds. A heads up if you’re installing it: the instructions say there are only two screws to remove the glass panel, which you’ll have to do because there’s a styrofoam piece in there for shipping, but there are actually two additional screws on the sides of the box that...
