Beautiful Tile, but has issues
I bought this tile over a year ago, just now started shower remodel. Wish I had known about the reviews, some good, some bad, but the bad is exactly what I have experienced. Tiles are not consistent in size, and chips real easy; even with a brand new wet saw and proper blade. Shower looks beautiful, even though grout lines aren't exact and some tiles are thicker than others. No way am I a professional, but it doesn't look half bad. Should have waited till I was actually ready to do the job ...
OK...But
I have only tiled a few floors and showers so take this for what it's worth. It's difficult to get a clean cut with a tile cutter. Also tends to break when using a grinder. The thing that bothered me most is the color variation. They vary from an off white to a grayish tint. I only had a small area to do, so went back and got a bunch more so I could have enough with a consistent color. And, as a little extra aggravation, you'll run into some that are a different size. So you can use these...
Calacatta wall tiles not just for walls
I bought these 9x12 marble facade tiles to go on my master bathroom floor. The tiles have a gradiant texture which makes them slip free, and the very light grey marble grain gives the tile a pretty and light white look. I finished off my tile with a bright white grout and it is just lovely. I paired the tiles with two side by side dark walnut vanities rather than going with one large double sink vanity set up and the look is surprisingly high end.... between hardy board, grout, thin set, tiles, ...
Good for tile art mural
This tile fit our project needs to create a background for a mosaic tub surround. Although this is wall and floor tile, it was used on the wall with a variety of natural stone tile to depict an outdoor scene. As a floor tile Lowes' rialto beige was used throughout our home because it is high quality and thru body color. This imitation white marble tile is only 1/4" thick and chips easier than the rialto tile. We found the price reasonable and also used the 3 x 12 bullnose and 12 x 12 field tiles...
Problems with Tile
This tile is a very poor quality. You really get what you pay for here! There is a lot of color variation with some tiles being darker than others. We hired a skilled tile company and did a complete shower. It wasn't until the grout and the tiles were dry that you could actually see that some were light and some darker. It will cost us $2000 to redo this shower because the DuraRock has to be replaced and we need to start from scratch. We do not recommend.
Beware of the shade
These tiles are very complicated. Be aware of the "shade" you purchase, as the stores have many different shades of this tile all mixed in together on the display. We purchased this tile and started doing the job on the shower walls, only to find out the associate had given us different shade colors. We had to return 4 of the mis-colored boxes and the shade we needed to finish the job was not in stock. Our remodel is now pushed back at least a week, until the store gets our order in.
These tiles are complete waste of money-stay away
I should have read the reviews before purchasing. Echoing what others have said - the tile sizes are not uniform, even within the same box. You are unable to properly align the tiles. We should have gone with the subway look, but it was too late. These tiles are very brittle, and break easily when cutting. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Complete waste of money and these tiles dampened on what was a good bathroom renovation thus far. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT.
We are very sorry to hear that you had issues with our products. I have not heard of any major issue with our product in size or shade. I'm not sure ...
Not brown tile at good price
I searched out specifically to find a tile that was not some shade of brown, tan, beige, sienna, etc. Wanted a White and Gray theme. Found this tile at Lowes at a very reasonable price. Completely re-did our 5x8 bathroom. Took out the tub, old 4" tiles, wallboard, sink, vanity. Only complaint with this tile is that there seemed to be very slight size differences from batch to batch. So the grout lines are not perfect. But, I never did tile work before so was not expecting to be perfect. The wife...
Good for the price
I purchased these for a bathroom shower wall, you really have to check the box before you leave the store as there tends to be a lot of broken tiles in the boxes. What I couldn't use for corners I just returned. Overall had 2 broken boxes of tiles out of 9 boxes.
Lovvvveee it!!
I saw this tile at lowes and fell in love with it! It has the marble look to it, so it looks expensive. I paired this tile in my bathroom with a glass tile i found at another hardware store. I wanted a spa like bathroom and i must say it looks fabulous! Im so pleased with my purchase, also we bought the 12x12 for our floor.
