For the proper application .....
For the proper application, this burlap roll worked very well for me. I would not expect this to provide any protection from frost, as it's a loose weave. Frost protection requires a tighter weave, and that's not what this is. I used this to provide shade for some new succulent and cactus plants, and it was superb for that use.
