What Customers Are Saying
The perlite product received mixed reviews. Many found it effective at improving soil drainage and aeration, especially for potting mixes and succulents. However, a significant number reported the perlite was excessively fine or powdery, with up to 95% dust instead of the expected small granules. This fine texture was problematic, as it could clog plant roots and create airborne dust. Some noted the need to wear a mask when using the product due to the dustiness. Overall, the perlite is functional but the quality is inconsistent, with a high proportion of very fine particles.

I bought the perlite while it was in its old, brown packaging and was amazed by the chunkiest perlite I’ve ever purchased; most of the bag were chunky with minimum fines. I got another bag with the new green packaging a year later and it’s mostly dust, which was the reason I left Miracle Gro’s perlite in the first place. Disappointed by the inconsistent quality control. Definitely either wear a mask or use the perlite outside or in a well ventilated area.

It is very light weight, so don't be out in the wind mixing it with soil!
