What Customers Are Saying
The quality of this garden soil is inconsistent, with some customers reporting excellent results supporting healthy plant growth, while others experienced poor soil quality that damaged or killed their plants. Positive reviews highlight the soil's nutrient content, texture, and moisture retention, leading to bountiful harvests. However, negative reviews describe the soil as mostly sawdust or wood chips with little actual soil content, resulting in poor plant growth. Customers recommend thoroughly inspecting the soil before use and being prepared to return or replace it if it does not meet expectations.

I usually purchase Miracle Grow for my garden and planters but because Sta Green was on sale and I was able to save a few bucks I bought this crap! Bought several bags of Sta Green Garden Soil. I'm not what is in it but Tomatoes would not grow and actually burned and died. Sunflowers would not grow. Butterfly Milkweed germinated and grew half inch, Basil grew and inch and turned yellow. Now I have to dig out this soil and lost all the time and seeds for this growing season. This stuff is cra...
Nothing but junk
I have been buying this specific product for over a decade and this is the worst I have ever seen. I feel this product is junk (too much wood) and the contents is lacking quality. 3 years ago, the garden was prime. Today, you have trouble with a good yield. That was a waste of $70. Oh, by the way, the satisfaction is for 60 days. What a joke. They know that It takes longer to set up beds and then try to realize if the soil is good or not.
HORRIBLE
Entire 10 bags I purchased were contaminated with flying ants.
DONT BUY!
So this was on sale this season at Lowes. Bought 10 bags and I have never EVER had such horrible results. I have 3 beds of miracle grow and 3 beds of this crap. Nothing has grown more than 1 inch in the sta-green junk. other beds already having harvest. so that is my 2 cents worth but I will never buy again. for the cost difference I will wait and just buy proven products that I have used and work every single time
Burns up tomato plants
This mixture smells like pine needles and it has burned up my tomato plants. I would not recommend this product!!
Sta Green garden soil
Had nothing but weeds growing in my sack . Very very disappointing and wrong .!!!! I don't need to pay for weeds ,they grow for free in my garden .

potting soil solution
this was recommended by a friend in the greenhouse business. I am so pleased with the mixture. I am a first-time user but this will be my go to soil from here on out.

Wear gloves for safety!
I got two of these 3-cu-ft bags for a raised bed. The soil itself is best mixed with other nutrient-rich stuff (I used mushroom compost and manure compost), and perhaps peat moss and vermiculite depending on your usage. HOWEVER, be careful!!! I found a large chunk of brown glass in the bag. I'm lucky I found it with my eyes and not by cutting my fingers, since I'm a professional classical musician. Dirt good, glass bad.
Hit or miss
I bought several bags this spring and I was very happy. Nice rich soil and the plants did very well in containers. I purchased more this week and I am very disappointed. Its mostly wood chips. You might get nice rich soil or you might get wood chips.
Great garden soil
I have used miracle gro for years and years . This year i decided on this one because it was a better value and ive never been more satisfied . My garden has grown bigger and better than it ever has . This will be my new soil from now on .
