Poor Quality Control
I was excited to use this for a desk, but upon applying Rubio Monocoat I come to realize that half the wood is entirely dark, while the other half is beautiful. Dark half had several punky/low density staves that absorbed finish unevenly, resulting in muddy black blotches that look like defects and make the wood look rustic.

Came in two pieces
The countertop we received was split down a 3 inch section and had another section ready to split as well. We had to glue it back together ourselves. Disappointing. Also, the surface is very rough, and we needed to sand it more to make it usable. I also ordered a 10ft piece and am now concerned about its condition when I receive it.

Be careful ordering online: You can't return it!
It arrived splintered and split in two pieces. Ordered online but Lowe's refused to pick it up or help ship it back, saying no return shipping offered. I am physically unable to carry this huge countertop or fit it in my car, and the closest Lowe's is miles away, so how do I get a refund? Will have to pay extra to get rid of this garbage. Overall, an impossibly frustrating and expensive experience.
