Dating back to the 1800’s, butcher blocks were originally used by meat cutters for durable work surfaces. Today, Sparrow Peak butcher blocks can be used throughout your home. Each cutting board is unique with naturally occurring variations in color, grain patterns and the organic features of real wood. We recommend finishing with a mineral oil or butcher block conditioner for cutting board use. For other uses, please visit with a Lowe’s paint and stain specialist for tips on finishing based on your specific needs. Regular maintenance of your Sparrow Peak cutting board will ensure its beauty lasts for generations to come.

I just received my new cutting board. It arrived carefully packaged and it's very well-made. I bought a one inch thick maple board, and it's very pretty wood, with tight glue-up construction. It looks very durable, should last decades. I am impressed and well pleased!

Good quality butcher's block ready for some DIY

Would Recommend

This board is very well made with no gaps or cracking. You do need to seal it very soon after opening it, though, so make sure you're ready for that. Also, be aware that the short ends may still be a little rough and the edges a little sharp; have some fine-grit sandpaper on hand if that's a problem for you. All in all, this is a good quality board that will last a long time as long as it's cared for properly.
