makes a beautiful desktop
i've made a gorgeous sit/stand desk using this product with very little effort. the grain is beautiful and the finish has a subdued elegance. make sure to finish it immediately after opening the packaging. the mixed reviews on this product seem to pertain to the shipping, not the product itself. my advice is to have this product delivered to a nearby lowes, and visually inspect the box upon arrival - the packaging is well-reinforced with hard cardboard at the edges and corners, but if the item ...

Overall nice, but like many others had one show up broken in half. Adjusted my plan to just use the one that showed up. Even that one had a dented corner. So while I recommend the product, I dont recommend it if you have to have it shipped.

I've purchased 2 of these butcher blocks to use ask desk surfaces. Both have been great. It appears most negative reviews were due to damange by the shipper, not any issue with the product itself. Item came package and well protected with firm frame cardboard frame and plastic to prevent warping and splitting from water moisture.
