For how expensive this product is, we have had nothing but issues. Arms of the umbrella started falling apart within 6 months and we are now having to replace parts of the crank mechanism as well as a new string line after only 2 years. We are other umbrellas that we have had for over 5 years that are still in perfectly good shape. This product is not recommended AT ALL.

Can't handle wind!
The slightest gust of wind and these are basically trash. We have purchased 3 of these umbrellas ( out almost 1k!) and after 2 summers of use ( we just trashed 2 this week) all 3 are done. We had a sudden wind the other day and my daughter rushed to wind it in because it was literally about to tip over into the pool! The canopy totally flipped! It took 3 of us to try and reel it in! Cable Snapped
I purchased my umbrella in July 2021 and loved it. I’ve had closed since October and when I opened it this morning, the crank cable had snapped with no visible way of fixing it, so I’m unable to open the umbrella. $400 out the window with less than 2 yrs of use.
Lights does not work after 1 year of use
The umbrella is huge and covers my deck. I get great compliments, however for all the money I spent, my solar lights should work. They don’t work even when plugged into the electric socket. Very disappointed.
SOLAR LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING
First let me say that the umbrella "itself" is great! I live in Florida and it suits are needs. However the solar lights stopped working within months of our purchase. I followed the instructions concerning recharging but the lights still do not work. I left a voicemail with SimplyShade (979-451-4413) about the issue in hopes they will contact me expeditiously to resolve the problem.
