Poor Product

I trusted Scott products for years. No more. Purchased Scott’s Topsoil to do patch grass seeding. Product is not topsoil it is bark mulch. Can’t get grass seed to grow in it and it is no light it easily washed away. Scott’s-do better !!!!

Misleading Packaging

please be advised, this is NOT topsoil. This is low-grade compost at best. It will not work for filling any volume, as the wood chips and peat moss will break down over time. Please just find a local landscape company that has proper topsoil, sand and compost. Make your own

The Only Thing Growing Is My Regret

I bought four bags of Scott’s “Premium Topsoil” with dreams of enriching my garden beds and giving my plants the VIP treatment. Instead, I opened the bags and was greeted by a sad pile of ground-up wood that looked like it had been through a chipper and a midlife crisis. Don’t buy Scott’s top soil

The top soil has a lot of wood chips in it. It looks like I put wood chips down on my lawn then dirt. I am very disappointed with this product. I have use this before but never had wood chips in it

Horrible product

I could not be more disappointed in a product as I am with this. I purchased 40 bags only to find broken glass and plastic pieces along with metal fragments after applying the product over grass seeds in my lawn. There were also large amounts of wood chunks and sticks. This is not a product I would ever recommend to anyone EVER. Today I found a broken piece of a ceramic coffee cup handle totally unacceptable. I have children running around the yard try keeping them in shoes all summer.

May as well be mulch

I bought several bags of this because it was priced very competitively. When I got home and emptied the bags into my raised beds, I was shocked to find it was mostly bark pieces and wood chunks (albeit finely shredded). The plants I have tried to grow in this soil vs another brand I cannot remember are stunted and delayed by development comparison. I suspect it is missing nutrients you get from a good mix of clay. Glass and plastic

Looks good on surface. But found plastic and glass mixed in soil.

Mostly just chips of bark.

This is not topsoil. It’s 80% tree bark! And it’s just gonna float away in heavy rain. So disappointed coming from this company. Potting soil would have been better…

Poor quality

Very poor quality, I chose this brand because I thought I would be getting top quality with a name brand product. But I was wrong. It almost cost me the life of a pet. I got this to set up a terrarium for a crested gecko.
