What Customers Are Saying
The product has a mixed reception. Some customers appreciate its sturdy construction, large capacity, and safety features, while many others find the complicated pouring mechanism extremely difficult to use. The main complaints are that the spout is awkward and hard to operate, requiring two hands, and the built-in filter restricts the flow rate, causing the gas pump to shut off prematurely. Several customers also reported significant leakage and spills around the spout. Overall, the consensus is that the product sacrifices usability and convenience in the name of safety features, and many customers recommend finding a simpler gas can design.

The plastic handles are good design. Otherwise I don't like the product because the green ring that attaches to the container can be extremely hard to open. I filled it with gas and took it home and could not get it open. I do have large slip ring pliers and I tried those for just a bit, but did not want to risk crushing the green ring. Therefor I took it back to the store for a refund. I was told no refund (perhaps because of some regulation?) Store people at the desk said they could n...

Practical
Pours well and the design allows for any evaporated gas to be easily vented off. The valve for opening the can to fill your motor is a little stiff.

Reliable and Well‑Designed 5‑Gallon Gas Can from L
I recently picked up a 5‑Gallon Plastic Gasoline Can from Lowe’s, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well it performs. The build quality is excellent—sturdy, durable plastic that feels like it will hold up for years. The design is thoughtfully engineered, with comfortable handles that make carrying and pouring much easier than older-style cans I’ve owned. One of the standout features is the spill‑resistant spout. Whether I’m refueling lawn equipment or topping off a generator, the flow is smo...

Gets the job done
Gets the job done. Handle is a little tricky to figure out at times if you aren’t used to it. Especially compared to the older models that didn’t have this spill prevention on it

Worthless design
This is the most poorly designed device of any kind I've ever purchased. You can only put gas in the can and can't get any back out. When you try to pour that gas out you end up spilling or leaking most of the gas all over the ground and yourself. And don'tg even think you are going to transfer gas from this can into a vehicle - it is physically impossible. It's basically worthless as a gas container. If you are stuck with one of these you can get replacement spouts that actually work at www.gas...
