Cold-rolled "carbon steel" wire, heat treated to grade 5 durability and plated with a HCR-X™ finish to prevent red rust -"HCR-X™" is tested and recognized for use in ground contact pressure treated lumber for exterior, freshwater general construction applications (eg AWPA UC1-UC4A, UCFA) - SPAX recommends stainless steel for cedar and redwood attachment applications.

Not expected Spax quality
The torx head stripped out too often and the screws often were difficult to get started. I only bought them because the Spax stainless steel screws I prefer were not available in the small quantity I needed. I was able to use these to complete the job, but will never buy them again.

Would not recommend, they break very easy
Bad experience, only used six and three out of the six broke before I got them completely installed. Also bought some three inch and never opened them. Returned both for a refund

it wont be as easy, but you can get the job done.
WORST SCREWS I AHVE EVER PURCHASED. 1. Box is very difficult to open. 2. Included bit is hard to find without dumping out whole box. 3. Bit is small and strips out too easily. 4. BIT is odd size and you will need another bit if the job includes removing any previously used screws.
