Slow, awkward.
I went all in on Skil 40V tools. Blower, string trimmer and this hedge trimmer. After relatively light use of them all, this is the only one that still functions. The blower and trimmer are garbage...they just quit on me. I find this trimmer less powerful and slower than my old 20V B&D hedge trimmer. Battery life isn't great, either. The tool is pretty heavy and it is just slow...its exhausting for me to use. It chews larger twigs...very cuttable ones (1/4") rather than cutting them clean...
