Good Wrench
This wrench works very well. The wrench seems well made and feels nice. The handles edges are rounded which makes it easy to use. The teeth grip well as they should. I got a longer one then my other pipe wrenches and it was easy to use. Very nice.
A stout, substantial wrench!
This is a stout, substantial wrench! I expect this is a tool that my kids will give to theirs. The teeth are sharp and I definitely appreciate the measurements on the upper jaw that show how wide the wrench is opened. It may be helpful to know that 18" is approximately the total length of the wrench with the jaw fully opened, rather than the length of the handle to the lower jaw (new to me). Also, and for good reason, this tool is heavy, so bring your strength to it, just to use it on what would...
Quality material and easy to adjust
This is a heavy duty wrench for adjusting several sizes of pipes. It's very easy to adjust and the sharp angled teeth do a great job of gripping the fittings.
Very Good product
I really like this wrench. I like the longer handle whi h makes it easier to grip. It fits good to whatever you are working on, and allows you to get good leverage.
Heavy and heavy-duty
Disclaimer, this is my first pipe wrench, ergo I don't have experience with other pipe wrenches to compare it to. The Sata pipe wrench is solid and heavy - definitely don't drop it on your foot! I went with 16 inches, but I probably could have gone shorter to have more maneuverability between studs and under sinks. The adjustment knob is easy to use with one hand, just don't adjust it too far open as the top will come off. There is some play in the head, but that is to be expected with somet...
Great heavy duty Pipe Wrench.
Wow, what a tool. Right out of the box I knew I had a well made tool in my hand. This thing feels more robust than a typical 18" pipe wrenches as well as feels a little heavier. The teeth are cut at an optimum angle for gripping smooth round surfaces. I used this pipe wrench on a 2" piece of pipe with a 90 tightly torqued on one end. I coulc not budge the 90 with just a normal grip on the wrench. It absolutely would not slip and held up to all of the torque that I could naturally apply. So I did...
Solid, Unique Measure Feature
Solid wrench, I did not have one as I have never really had a need or not used a different tool as a substitute. But the handle is solid, some you can tell are lower quality metal. Make sure you get one with a lifetime warranty. Nice feature is the size markings, that I haven't noticed on others I have used/barrowed.
Nice tool
This thing is a beast! I needed it to disassemble air compressor lines that have been together for years and years. Tight grip, did not slip one time.
Heavy Duty foresure
Made in China the Apex Tool Group makes the Sata Heavy Duty Pipe Wrench which is drop forged and weighs just over 5 lbs. Made of CrV chromium-vanadium steel its heavy duty and durable. The jaw opens to fit applications up to 2-1/2 inches and measures 18 inches long. Printed on the hook-jaw threaded bar are the application sizes as pictured. The manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty against defects and craftsmanship.
Solid wrench for the price
This is all you would need from an 18-in pipe wrench. The adjuster spins freely and the teeth are sharp. The hook jaw is on a spring assembly but there's not much movement. The key feature on this wrench is the handy pipe size markings. Adjust the wrench to the pipe size you're working with as shown on the hook jaw and save yourself some time.
