Heavy and solid wrench
I have used pipe wrenches from other brands many times in my life, but this was the first time I've used a SATA branded tool. The wrench is made from solid cast iron and steel and the paint seems to be applied with perfection. I don't think it will chip off even with heavy use. I was tiring to take apart some old fittings and I needed a second wrench to hold one of the pieces so that I could muscle them apart. They had been together for many years and were bonded with some crusty hardened pi...
Pneumatic cylinder replacement with pipe wrench
I don't use a pipe wrench in the typical way. As a furniture repair technician, I repair many chairs that the pneumatic cylinders in them go bad. Unfortunately, due to the time and weight of a chair that is used, the pneumatic cylinder gets pressured locked into place and requires a pipe wrench to break the locked fit. This pipe wrench is the perfect size to use for this purpose. The handle is 8" long and gives just enough length to get a strong grip onto it with out having to use a breaker bar....
A solid plumbing requirement.
For anyone who has done a bunch of plumbing work at home, this is a must have. The wrench is solid. It's fits a wide range of pipes too and even with a 14 inch handle it fits under sinks, behind pedestals. The adjustment is very smooth and easy to use with a gentle twist helping set the wrench for use. And it is extremely easy to 'field strip' this wrench so you can clean it anytime. All in all a great tool.
Nice pipe wrench.
The 14” pipe wrench is very well built and has a good grip on the pipe. It is just the right length for most small to medium pipe installations. I used it to install some 1/2” and 3/4” iron gas lines as well as a water heater. The pipe wrench worked just as well as some older well known pipe wrench brands. The adjustment turned very easily as well to adjust different pipe sized. Ot seems very well built.
Heavy duty and well-built.
We picked this pipe wrench because of a leaky backyard pipe. Got the 14" version because it's big enough for tough jobs, but not too unwieldy. This tool did its job and feels good in the hand. Very good craftsmanship with engraved measurements for the throat width. It has a 2" jaw capacity so it can pretty much take care of anything you would need a pipe wrench for if you're a normal homeowner. Good stuff SATA!
It is a Beast
You wouldn't think there is much to say about a Pipe Wrench, but this little guy is just the best. It does what it is supposed to, doesn't slip or loosen, and works well in smaller places where a larger wrench wouldn't fit. The thing is a beast though. Use it as a wrench - for sure! But it also works as a hammer, lever, wedge, and just about anything else you want to!
Seems well built according the general contractor.
Currently having some work done to my house so i figured I would pass this around and see what the pros thought. General concensus was it seemed like a good quality, well built product. I was able to open and close it easily with either hand which is usually a problem with older versions ( like my grandfathers old pipe wrench) of this tool.
Remarkable
The teeth on this wrench are qell cut and I can tell will last a ling time. Adjusting nut is very free flowing and could actually do with my thumb and index. Over length and heavyness of thia wrench will be something that will last beyond my days!
Nice Wrench
When I got this and it was packaged well, It is made very well and actually designed to to be used with alot of leverage on bolts. I used it to tighten a new ball on my hitch.
Solid built pipe wrench with long handle
I used this 14” pipe wrench to remove some stubborn spigot fittings outside. The tool is well built and sturdy and the long 14” handle allows for more torque and less strain on your forearms and wrist.
