Rubber-Cal’s General Purpose Rubber is a durable and cost-effective synthetic rubber sheeting that can be used for a wide range of applications. These elastomer sheets are made from a reliable synthetic rubber material called SBR. The thick rubber sheets go through a chemical heating process called vulcanization to achieve the smooth finish and long-lasting industrial strength that styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) is known for. This high-density rubber has a durometer of 60A, which gives the material a moderately hard surface with a little pliability. The sheet rubber material has good resistance to indentation and abrasions, making it perfect for heavy-duty applications. Styrene rubber, unlike other synthetic rubber types, is designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the outdoors. The sheets of rubber are impervious to moisture and damaging weather effects such as UV rays or ozone. With a working temperature range from -10° F to 190° F, this solid elastomer maintains excellent performance, even in extreme heat. This makes the hard sheet rubber ideal for industrial and commercial applications, as the rubber materials can handle the intense friction of heavy machinery without being worn down. Our General Purpose synthetic rubber is specially designed to handle such extreme conditions.Synthetic rubber SBR is highly valued for its abilities to enhance traction and absorb shock. This 1/4" sheet rubber is the second thickest of five available gauges and offers excellent protection against impacts and abrasions. In addition any sound, vibration, or movement that comes into contact with the thick sheet rubber is absorbed by it, and reduced by spreading it evenly across the surface. This makes the rubber sheeting great for a limitless possibility of applications—everything from protective padding to soundproofing or insulation. Our General Purpose Rubber withstands even the toughest conditions, making it ideal for heavy-duty applications.
Made from styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) for long-lasting durability and superior abrasion resistance
SBR makes a great protective barrier because it can absorb shock, limit vibration, and reduce noise
Shore 60A means that the rubber material is medium grade in terms for hardness and pliability
This 1/4-in rubber is the second thickest of five available gauges and works best for heavy-duty applications
This sheet rubber is backed with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) for easy do-it-yourself installation
