Just as needed.

It does not have much spring-travel, & the rods are a bit thinner than preferred, & they rust, but these did as needed, to hold heavy duty wire mesh in front of window screens, to prevent pets escaping or damaging the fiberglass screens. These also help lock slider windows in place in lieu of window locks, as well as for firmly hanging curtains!

Worth the money

It was new for me, usually a tension rod twist to make longer or shorter, this one has a screw & spring to tighten.

Small lightweight rod is perfect for short panel

Exactly what I was seeking and I'm very pleased. It is for my short lightweight curtain panel. It doesn't stand out and does the job.

Only sufficient for light duty

End caps don't grip well and overall not very sturdy--works for lace curtain layer that won't need to be moved. Buy the largest size that will fit in the space to get the most strength.
