Loud and slow
We purchased this unit to allow for multiple appliances/showers to be ran at once without losing hot water. The positive is that this unit does the trick. You can run a dishwasher, washer, and shower with no issues. The negative, it’s VERY loud and the water takes a minute or two to get hot. We have only have it installed for about a month, there haven’t been any mechanical issues as of yet. If there was a unit with a quieter option I would have went with that one.

Overall is good, but there is a learning curve.
The tank is installed a bit tall above the ground level, so I have to climb a ladder to make any change in control panel. If there is a smart device functionality - control over iPhone via WiFi or internet, it would be better. Most of my other appliances in the house already have so. For example, the garage door opener.

Slow, hot water
The product seems nice. It had a 120° max limit on it but with the plumbers help I was able to get it to 140°. It takes me at least two minutes to get hot water after turning on the hot water tap which is very frustrating. And I don’t mean two minutes for it to get hot. I mean two minutes to feel any warm water at all. Which is frustrating. You can add a recirculation pump to make this faster but you could also buy a tankless hot water heater that has this built-in. Excellent water heater
Biggest advantage is thea decrease in my gas bill for running a pilot light 24/7. It may not seem like much, but I've already noticed a change in my bill from this time last year. Beyond that, I'm not having water sitting in a tank for some months (while I'm traveling) taking on sediment and degrading the tank.

Poor Instructions
I installed the Rannai Water Heater as Instructed after installation I found it was taking over 3 minutes to get Hot Water to my Kitchen. I contacted Customer Service and they sent me a U-Tube Link for a This Old House video showing installing a Recirculation Pump on the farthest Water Fixture. They Do Not tell you what Model of pump you need or which pumps are Compatable with the Rannai Water heater I have. Pros It Heats the Water. Cons I now have to buy an Expensive Recirculation Pump as soon ...
