Last week I finished installing 75 feet of 1 1/4" black iron pipe in the crawl space under my house for a whole house standby generator. Installing the pipe in the crawl space was easier than digging and back filling a trench the length of my house! After 4 failed attemps to use teflon tape on brass to plastic connections i bought this dope. One shot stop and this stuff rocks! No leaks, no runs, no errors. Best dope on earth!

Tube exploded

I bought the smaller tube and barely squeezed it before the seal failed and it exploded all over my nice work pants.

Pipe thread sealant

I asked a Lowe plumbing associate where the pipe sealant was located. He explained that there is a special sealant for gas pipe. I did not know there is a sealant especially for gas pipe

Air Compressor

I used this product to seal all of the connections on my large air compressor. It was easy to work with and all of the joints are secure and leak free. Good product.

Have used this product many times in past and have “Always” been satisfied with it’s quality and performance. If you have a plumbing project needing a joint sealed this is a great solution.

Rector Seal No.5 is still one of the VERY BEST sealants on the market today. Why would anyone use the cheap stuff and have a chance of a leak. Natural gas and propane leaks are not very forgiving!

Easy to use

This soft set pipe dope works great on gas plumbing. The connections will come apart without a big mess. The smaller bottle works for me do that I have fresh sealant on hand at all tokes.
