I am not a professional contractor, but I do consider myself a very capable DIYer. I hope this review helps people in a similar position. I have just installed this product in 2 of our bathrooms. It is super-important that you follow all the installation instructions meticulously, including checking resistances at every step and using the right thin set. For the family bathroom I installed 3 heating mats and had a query around the ohms reading being slightly out of range after I had trimmed one...

Easy installation and reasonably priced.

Failed Product

Contractor installed this heating mat and then tiled over it. After a day and a half the tile had play in it. Grout seams were cracking. The mat was not adhering to the brand new surface it was installed on after the tile was laid. We had to rip up the entire section, remove the mat and retile. $121 x 2 lost for two mats. Cost to wire mats lost. $108 for a useless thermostat that is now installed on our wall. $500+ for replacement tile. Don't waste your money on this product.

ery toasty

This mat warms the tile very well. It is great to step out of the shower onto this nice toasty tile. Ive not notcied cold spots. I wish it came/Lowes carried a medium width. 18 is kinda small, but i dont have the clearance for the 36” wide mat. The only con is the amout of time required for warming. It takes several hours to warm up. The kids expect to be able to turn it on before showering and have it warm when they get out like thr towel warmer.

Wish it would come with a thermostat

It seems like a nice product. Only thing is you need to purchase a thermostat on your own. It’s very misleading you think you have everything you need but you really don’t when you’re ready to start the project.
