Would not bite
Had a small project to install and bought these to secure the cement board, they would spin and spin and not bite. Returned the unused ones and bought the other brand which drove with one hand. These also chewed through T20 bits while the other brand uses T25 which are more robust. Save time get the other brand.
Drive too small
Needs to be T25 head, just breaks T20's like crazy.

Star-drive cement board screws
The star-drive cement board screws are excellent. They made putting up the shower board easy.

Run away
Very bad. Every single screw will slip wobble and fall. Why? They are T24 but screws. Stay with T25. Don’t ever use these. Caused me so much stress!!! 25 years doing this. I was tricked. Never again.

Trouble screwing unless you predrill...
These are a royal pain to drill into cement board. The fix to this is spending the time to predrill every hole. At this point they work just as good as any other screw. I expected them to be easier.

Better products out there
Similar to the other low reviews, these use a T20 bit with poor fit where the main competitors use a T25 bit with better quality control. These were frustrating to use as they wouldn't countersink easily and I went through about $40 in T20 impact bits trying to fully seat them, ended up running out of bits and hammering the rest flush in frustration. I needed some more to finish the job and bought backer-ons instead and they went in much easier I wish I bought those in the first place.

Don't buy it.
The screw is made for a T20 drive bit which is too small. Similar products use T25. I used Dewalt drive bits which are top of the line but they deformed & galled out after driving about 70 screws because the torque diameter & drive slots are too small. Also the screw took way too long to bite into the cement board, they would typically spin on the long taper point (poor design) 10 - 15 revolutions before self cutting through. I will never buy this product again. Note: there was no drive bit i...
