I bought this saw 4 years ago as a secondary miter saw. Soon it needed to be my primary because my big miter was sick. It's still working great and the ability to fold it up and put it on the top shelf of my workshop without taking up an entire shelf is the best thing. Plus it's really portable for lots of small jobs or even jobs that take weeks. Ive already recommended this thing to several people
Not a real Porter Cable, no warranty
Pro: inexpensive, cuts well, looks nice. Cons: felt under powered, trigger not consistent, no warranty. I bought this in Jan 2019. It cut cedar 1x6 very well. It cut 2x4s pretty good, but felt under powered. It was not very good with 2x6s at all. Pulling the trigger with the hand-safety thing was hit and miss. Broke twice, I give up
I purchased this and only used it a few times. I cut some molding, then a few pieces of molding. Then it went in for repair. Then I got it back used it about a month, twice and it broke again. Lemon. The work I"m doing is DIY homeowner. Nothing fancy. I'm a 65 year old woman for G sake. Anything that falls apart with the little bit of use I do is ridiculous. Works fantastic.....for a few months.
Been using this saw nonstop for months and it's been cutting just fine. Not the absolute most accurate but for the price it's well worth it. That was until the arbor tab sheared off. I contacted Porter Cable and they do not sell the arbor itself, I'd have to buy the whole motor unit which is double the price of the saw.
