I went to Lowes to purchase (advertised) GAF Timberline HDZ shingles. It was highly recommended by my roofing specialist. Lowes can order them but they are an Owens Corning dealer. So, I went with the True Definition line. My big complaint is their nailing strip. There is no quality control in this area. My new home, a 1930's hunting camp turned year round in 1949 has a very curvy 52 foot long facia. My installers were complaining that from one shingle to another the nailing strip varied from a ...

I love the nailing strip. It makes shingles far more wind resistance. Adhesion is superb too. Great color retention and algae resistance.

My favorite shingle

Duration shingles are my favorite shingles to install. I love the Owens Corning nailing strip area. There are 39 bundles per pallet. They are different than Oakridge. The colors are slightly different profiles along with the nailing strip.
